JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) and Chamber of Commerce Building Committee met Thursday to discuss proposed improvements to the shared building.

JSDC Admin & Finance Coordinator Tracey Pringle started with HVAC Improvements within the building and informed the committee that HVAC vendors in the area are currently not willing do conduct proposed HVAC work.

Pringle stated it would cost between $2,000 to $2,500 for an evaluation of their system, but says the quote they have from Climate Control for $12,874, an increase from their original quote.

The project would be covered on a split of $10,557 to the JSDC and Chamber share of $2,317. Pringle stated she would be applying for a State Energy Grant to pay 80% of the cost, leaving the 20% to be covered between both entities.

The committee moved to accept the project. The committee also moved to hire a Bismarck contractor to evaluate the entire system before moving ahead with the system improvements.

The Building Committee had also recommended approval of $24,393 for audio visual improvements. The JSDC approved up to $30,000 for these improvements.

Pringle added they are currently $6,000 over the allotted budget for the project. She says out of the options provided, she recommended approving work on the upstairs conference room, lower level sound panels, and revised lower conference room quote, bringing the cost to $30,704, shared between the JSDC and Chamber.

The project was unanimously approved.
