BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown started red hot out of the gate on the road Thursday against the Bismarck St. Mary’s, but it was short-lived as shooting woes plagued the Blue Jays in a 73-51 loss to the Saints.

Jamestown got out to an early 8-0 lead before Saint Mary’s took control, relying on senior Nate Fedorchak to carry a bulk of the load in the first half. The Saints held a 41-26 advantage over the Blue Jays at the break, and Fedorchak was the leading scorer with 14 points. In the second half, it was more of the same as the Saints continued to build on their lead with strong performances by their seniors. Jamestown never cut the deficit to single digits in the final 18 minutes.

Adam Kallenbach was the leading scorer for Jamestown, finishing with 16 points, including four made three-pointers. Caydann Cox supplied 10 points off the bench to end the game as the only other Blue Jay in double figures. Luke Van Berkom had eight points to go along with 10 rebounds on the night.

Jamestown will have to hit the reset button quickly as the Jays now hit the road to take on Dickinson Friday night at 9 pm. The Blue Jays, now 5-6 overall and 4-6 in the WDA standings, are looking to sweep the season series against the Midgets.
