JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Finance & Legal moved to recommend approval to fund the 2022 Flex PACE Program up to $500,000 in a split with the County.
The program is funded between both the city and county with 80% covered by the city, or $400,000 while leveraging federal funds for local projects.
JSDC Business Development Director Corry Shevlin says this will be the cap for the program this year.
Shevlin says they had a very successful 2021 with the program.
Mayor Dwaine Heinrich says the cap was recommended after concerns were raised that all economic development dollars could be used for the project.
The committee unanimously approved recommendation to the city.
The Finance & Legal Committee also moved to consider the antenna license agreement with Sprint (T-Mobile), for the right to install, operate and maintain an antenna and related facilities without interference with city’s infrastructure, or maintenance and repair requirements.
City Administrator Sarah Hellekson says this is renewal of an expired agreement.
The term would be one-year.
The committee later considered recommending approval of an energy conservation grant agreement with the North Dakota Department of Commerce Division of Community Services to retrofit lights in the Street Department facilities at a 50% local share.
The local share would cost $18,739.34 and is projected to save $7,225 annually in energy costs. The recommendation was unanimously approved.
