JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hunting seasons are closed down early January and the deadline to remove equipment from Wildlife Management Area’s (WMAs) is coming soon.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says hunters have until the end of the month to get things removed.
Leier says hunters are also being asked to participate in the hunter harvest surveys.
Surveys are available on the Game & Fish Department’s website and Leier says they need as much input as possible to help them with many of their decisions.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has conducted hunter harvest surveys for more than a half-century, using the findings to help manage the state’s wildlife populations. Thousands of surveys are sent annually, and participation is strongly urged because hunter harvest plays a noted role, for example, in setting hunting license numbers for the upcoming season.
