JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota Hockey day 2022 is underway as Devils Lake and Jamestown met outdoors Friday night outside of Wilson Arena.
The Blue Jays outshot the Firebirds 58-20 and shut out Devils Lake 2-0.
Senior Joe Cummings scored his 7th goal of the season late in period one and Senior Michael Mahoney sealed the game with a shorthanded goal late in the third, his 4th of the season.
Junior Nolan Nenow, who leads the state in scoring, notched his 19th assist of the season and Seniors Hunter Nelson and Zach Rene picked up assists as well.
Jamestown split time in net with Senior Brode Hillstrom and Junior Andrew Walz combining for 20 saves and the shut out.
The Jays improve to 11-3 on the season and Devils Lake falls to 3-12.
Jamestown gets back into West Region play with a matinee Saturday vs Williston inside Wilson Arena at 5:15 pm.
Outdoor games Saturday will include the Blue Jay girls against Bismarck at noon and Jimmie men’s hockey vs Minot State at 730pm. Both games can be heard on 107.1 FM and AM 1400 KQDJ and newsdskota.com.
