FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Both varsity basketball teams for the Valley City Hi-Liners were in West Fargo Thursday night to take on the Packers. These games were rescheduled games, as the teams were supposed to play on Tuesday night but the match ups were postponed due to the bad weather. The Packers teams coming away victorious in both games, as the Hi-Liners girls team lost 99-49, and the Hi-Liners boys team lost 84-47.

Girls: West Fargo 99 Valley City 49

The girls Hi-Liners team saw their season follow the trend that it has been going down. The girls team plays tough, but just cannot make the big shots during a game to stop momentum or to give their team some life in a game. The girls team won’t have much to to think about this one as they continue their season right away on Friday night as they will travel to take on Devils Lake at 7:30PM.

Boys: West Fargo 84 Valley City 47

The boys team, is still searching for that first win of the season. It was another tough loss for the local basketball team. It was only a 6-point game at the half before the Packers would force 23 second half turnovers, and gathered in 13 offensive rebounds to run away with this one. In a text exchange with the boys Hi-Liners head coach Alex Quist, he told me, “It’s all good, we have just got to piece it together.”

If you listen to Coffee with the Coaches, that airs every Saturday morning at 9am live from Alley Beans, coach Quist has repeatedly stated that the teams just needs to get it all together at the same time, and he is not wrong with his statements. This team has the talent and when they do get it all together they can rattle off some wins. The boys team is off until Tuesday.
