JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boys and girls basketball teams picked up dominant wins over Watford City on Saturday, and the Blue Jay boys hockey team moved into first place in the WDA with a win over Minot. Here are your weekend results.

BOY’S BASKETBALL: JAMESTOWN 85, WATFORD CITY 42

Jamestown put up 50 first half points on Saturday afternoon at Jerry Meyer Arena in a drubbing of Watford City. The Blue Jays shot 47% from the field and forced 28 Watford City turnovers. Noah Meissner had the best game of his Blue Jay career, scoring 23 points and going 5-8 from deep. Ryan Larson and Mason Lunzman each finished with 20 points to help Jamestown improve to 5-5 overall on the year. The Blue Jays, now 4-5 in the WDA, will be at St. Mary’s on Tuesday for a 7:30 pm game against the Saints.

GIRL’S BASKETBALL: JAMESTOWN 81, WATFORD CITY 49

Annie Nabwe’s 19 point and 10 rebound performance on Saturday helped the Blue Jays cruise to victory over the Wolves at home. Jamestown shot over 50% for the game in the win, and Ellie Falk picked up 18 points to go along with five assists and four rebounds. Katie Trumbauer also ended the game in double figures, scoring 16 points and grabbing three steals. The Blue Jay girls, now 6-4 overall and 5-4 in the WDA, host St. Mary’s on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. BOY’S HOCKEY: JAMESTOWN 5, MINOT 2

The Blue Jays won their sixth game in a row Saturday afternoon at Wilson Arena behind a hat trick from junior Nolan Nenow. Jamestown scored a pair of empty net goals late in the third period to pull away from the Magicians and take sole possession of first place in the WDA. Hunter Nelson and Zach Lunde had the other two goals for the Blue Jays, and Joe Cummings picked up a pair of assists. Jamestown, now 9-3-1 overall, hosts Dickinson on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Mark McKenzie will have full coverage of the game on Q101. Brode Hillstrom made 33 saves in net against the Magi for Jamestown.

GIRL’S HOCKEY: FARGO N/S 7, JAMESTOWN 1

The Blue Jay girls hockey team suffered a setback on Saturday afternoon with a loss against Fargo North/South. Ellie Kruger scored the lone goal for Jamestown, coming in the second period off an assist from Alexis Kirkeby. Jamestown, 5-6-1 on the year, travels to Fargo on Tuesday night for a nonconference matchup against Davies. Puck drop is set for 5:15 pm.
