VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Vipers squirt team got back to action Sunday, after a three week break, to face West Fargo Stampede B1 Black who entered the game with a perfect 13-0 record.
Goaltender Tyler Olson continued his strong season and was able to keep the Vipers in the game by turning away 35 of 38 shots on goal.
The first period would end in a 0-0 tie but WF would get on the board four minutes into the second period to put the Stampede up 1-0. Gray Kasowski would score (assist Beck Dietrich) to square things up a minute and a half later, but the Vipers offense would be silenced the rest of they day as they were only able to muster a total of 14 shots on goal. WF would take a 2-1 lead with four minutes left in the second and add one in the third for a final of 3-1.
The Vipers fall to 5-4 on the season. They’ll be back in action this Saturday when Bismarck White and Bismarck Red come to town for a Saturday double header.
