JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Day two of the 2022 Stutsman County Boys Basketball Tournament was held on Friday at the Civic Center with another four games, here are the results:
NAPOLEON/GACKLE-STREETER 61 GRIGGS/MIDKOTA 39
The Imperials never trailed as the move into the consolation championship for the second consecutive year. Trevor Moos led the way for NGS with 26 points, GM was led by Logan Topp with eight.
SOUTH BORDER 53 KIDDER COUNTY 44
The Wolves kept the game close but the Mustangs were just to much down the stretch as the South Border Mustangs move into the consolation championship this year after placing eighth in the Stutsman tourney last year. Kaleb Thiery had 18 points for SB and Trevor Schmidt had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Luke Rath had 15 to lead KC.

Rylen Wick made 2 free throws with 1.4 seconds to go to give MPB a trip to the championship game on Saturday night. Wick (6’3 sophomore) had a game high 26 points which included 6 made three pointers on 10 attempts. Josh Moser added 9 points and grabbed a game high 8 rebounds to help aid the Thunder victory. The Thunder led by as many as 9 points in the first half and trailed by 9 in the second half. EKM was paced offensively by Joseph Kramlich (freshman) and Adam Nitschke (6’4 senior) with 10 points each. Nitschke added 6 rebounds for the Rebels. EKM had chances to put the game away late at the free throw line, but made just 2 of 6 down the stretch which included misses on the front end of three 1 & ones. MPB improves to 4-1 overall and EKM lost its first game of the season and now sits 5-1.
ELLENDALE 60 CARRINGTON 42
The Ellendale Cardinals outscored the Carrington Cardinals 25-8 in the second opening up a 40-17 halftime lead and cruised to the 18 point win. A pair of Carrington technical fouls late in the second quarter resulted in a 10-0 stretch for Ellendale where Carrington didn’t have an offensive possession and propelled the big halftime margin. Riley Thorpe (6’ senior guard) scored all 10 of those points and ended the night with a game 21 points (all in the first half, 18 second quarter points), including four three pointers. Scott Wagner (6’7 senior) added 14 points on 7-10 shooting. Hudson Topp paced Carrington with 14 points including four three pointers and Lucas Hendrickson added 9 points and a game high 7 rebounds.
