battle-of-the-badges-2021

Results from the 6th Annual Battle of the Badges in Jamestown saw Team Fire edge out Team Law in 2021.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A fun way to raise needed blood donations will return this weekend in Jamestown.

Battle of the Badges pits the Jamestown Police Department against the Jamestown Fire Department, all while encouraging blood donations that will help the continued blood shortage experienced nationwide.

Police Chief Scott Edinger says the event is important as the need for blood remains high locally.

Blood donations from the event will be stored at 68 area hospitals for use.

Chief Edinger added that in their line of work, they see firsthand the need for blood donations.

While bragging rights for the year remain the top prize for each department, Chief Edinger says it’s all for the cause.

Those who donate blood during the three day event will vote for Team Fire or Team Law and receive a t-shirt. The drive will begin Thursday from 11:30 AM to 6 PM, Friday from 10:30 AM to 5 PM, and end Saturday from 7 AM to 11 AM.

You can call Vitalant to schedule a donation at 877-25-VITAL(84285) or go to donors.vitalant.org and search blood drive code Jamestown to make your appointment.
