Jeane Ruth (Cable) Lang, formerly Tower City, ND, was born at her parent’s home on September 10, 1933, to Jesse and Mary (Lowe) Cable of Zanesville, OH.  She died on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Inspired Senior Living at the age of 88 in Hanover, MN.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Interment will be in May at Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City, ND.  An online guestbook and live-streaming of the service will be available at www.lerudschuldt.com.

Following graduation from Lash High School in 1951 she enlisted in the United States Navy. Following her military service, Jeane married Ferdinand (Fred/Fritz) Joseph Lang on May 2, 1952, in Oriska, ND.  They spent 54 years together on their farm north of Tower City, ND where they raised 5 daughters.  She spent 68 years on the farm and was never happier than when all her children and grandchildren would come home for the holidays or family get-togethers.

Jeane was a dedicated farm wife and mother who in 1981 attended Valley City State University.  She worked part-time for the ND Department of Tourism as a Tourist Guide at the Oriska Rest Area Information Center and was also the local Avon lady for several years.  She was a long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Circle and also a 61-year member of the Barnes County Homemakers of Today.  One of her favorite committees to serve on was the planning committee for the annual Barnes County Homemakers Bus Tour.

In 2020, Jeane suffered a stroke which necessitated a move to Hanover, MN to live with her daughter Michele and family.

Jeane was preceded in death by her husband Fritz; parents Jesse and Mary Cable; four sisters Beatrice, Esther, Betty, Bessie, and brother Jesse Jr.

She is survived by her daughters:  Bethina (John) Sletten, Beaver Creek, OH; Brenda Lang, Fargo, ND; Kristi Lang, West Fargo, ND; Jennifer Lang, Pelican Rapids, MN; Michele (Shane) Ragone, Hanover, MN; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Inspired Senior Living of Hanover and Brighton Hospice, St. Louis Park, MN.  A special thanks to Jeanne Deschneau for the personal care she provided for our Mom.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, St. Michael, MN and Farm Rescue of Horace, North Dakota.
