
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For some of us living in the Northern Plains for the first time, this maybe your first brush with winter; snow, ice and bitterly cold wind chills.
Wind chills of 45 to 55 below are being reported in eastern North Dakota and in western Minnesota for New Years Day.
This is a good time to re-acclimate ourselves to winter survival tips during these bitterly cold temperatures and wind chill conditions.
The National Weather Service is reminding everyone to be ready and get a winter survival kit in your vehicle by keeping warm clothing and non-perishable food items like candy bars inside your vehicle this winter.
