JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On November 30th, it was announced that longtime Shuberts Carpet One was sold after more than 76 years in business.
The Jamestown Downtown Association (JDA) reports that Barb Gomke put the building at 120 1st St. E on the market and prepared for life after carpet and paint sales.
“To her surprise, a buyer appeared shortly after listing and the business closed it’s doors,” the JDA states. “Barb had worked there since 1972 when she started there as a high schooler. Her retirement plans include spending more time with her grandchildren.”
Prime Properties ND LLC, the new owners of the building, have Jamestown roots and plan to renovate and update both the retail space and apartments.
“Watch for good changes on the corner,” the JDA added.
