The commission unanimously approved the make Alonge the Auditor/COO effective January 1st, 2022. Commissioner Ramone Gumke was not present.
Later, discussion was held on establishing precincts for 2022 elections. Alonge informed the commission that so far, it’s been “a process.”
The precinct would also have to include the legislative district, which is 29 or 12 in Stutsman County. Most of Jamestown would remain in District 12 with a small piece in District 29.
In 2020, Stutsman County closed all rural precincts to adjust for COVID-19 and staff shortages. Alonge stated she was approached by Medina to open their precinct voting for the upcoming election.
Alonge says polling locations will be set at a later date closer to elections. She hopes to have them set by March.
