VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – VCHS hosted their annual holiday wrestling tournament on Saturday for the first time since 2019. This year a girls division was added that featured 5 weight classes.

For the girls, Jada Kunze and Deegan Kirschenman were Co-champions at the 110 lbs division. Mylee Christianson pinned her way to the 125 lbs championship.
Down 4 starters due to illness, the boys placed 5 overall as a team behind Bismarck High, Jamestown, West Fargo Sheyenne, and perennial class B power Lisbon.
Hi-Liners placed 5 wrestlers into the semifinals : Kolt Grebel, Koye Grebel, Tucker Johnson, Ethan Miller, and Jonah Schuldheiz.
Both Grebels and Miller advanced to the finals. At 106 #2 ranked Kolt Grebel won by major decision (16-3) over #3 ranked Landon Zink of WF Sheyenne. At 120 lbs, # 1 ranked Koye Grebel defeated #2 ranked Pete Rasmussen for the 3rd time this season by major decision (10-0). #4 Miller lost by decision to # 5 ranked Connor Manske of WF Sheyenne.
