VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Shelia Zinke told the Valley City School board that this actually is her final performance as the choral director. Zinke retired in 2020 as the director, but was called back to fill in during an interim period after the choral director resigned early into the new school year.
The school board thanked her for filling in and doing such an outstanding job with the students until the board hired a new director.
Back in 2018, Zinke was named the North Dakota ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) Choral Director of the Year. This prestigious award is selected by the members of the ACDA and given to the director in North Dakota that has demonstrated outstanding work in the area of vocal music.
Zinke was a teacher in the Valley City Public School District for 12 years before she retired in 2020.
