VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City lost more than 400 residents according to the 2020 U.S. Census.

The population now stands at 6,203 residents a drop of 445 compared to the 2010 Census count of 6,648.

In 1970, Valley City reached a peak of 7,843 residents.

A survey by the American Community Survey Company said the ratio of female in Valley City was 52 percent compared to 47 percent of the male population.

The survey also said, the average income for a male living in Valley City is $44,000 compared to $32,000 for females working in Valley City.
