MADISON, S.D. (NSAA.com) – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has selected Jalen Addison of Valley City State (N.D.) as its Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week, the seventh edition of the weekly honor was announced by the conference office Monday.

Jalen Addison – Valley City State (N.D.) – 6’2″ – Senior – guard – Milwaukee, Wis. – Addison averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game as (RV) Valley City State (N.D.) won a pair of home games. He scored 22 points on his 9-of-16 field goals, including 4-of-9 3-points in fueling the Vikings to a 107-63 victory over Maine-Fort Kent. He scored all of 20 of his points in the first half (8-of-12 field goals and 4-of-7 3-pointers) in VCSU’s 104-52 victory over Oak Hills (Minn.), only playing 13 minutes in the game. For the week, Addison totaled 42 points on his 17-of-28 field goals (60.7 percent) and drained 8-of-16 3-pointers (50 percent). He pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out four assists for the week.
Valley City State (N.D.), receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll, closed out the 2021 portion of the schedule with a pair of home victories. The Vikings cruised past Maine-Fort Kent 107-63 on Dec. 8 and Oak Hills (Minn.) 104-52 on Dec. 12. VCSU is 10-4 overall record on the season.
