JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Parks and Recreation will be hosting an open house to honor Doug Hogan and to thank him for his 37 years of service to the community.
Hogan announced his retirement in September of this year. He told NewsDakota then that he had been mulling retirement for a few years, but the past two years had helped him in making the decision.
During his tenure as director, Hogan has overseen some big projects in Jamestown including the Two Rivers Activity Center. He credits his staff and commission with a lot of what the Parks & Recreation Department has been able to accomplish.
Hogan likened his retirement to when he left football officiating. It won’t be the game he misses, it’ll be the people.
Former Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) Facilities Manager Amy Walters was hired to take over the position.
The open house will be held at the Bunker, 1520 3rd St SE, on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The community is invited to attend.
