HAZEN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown hockey team picked up two victories over the weekend on the road as the Blue Jays defeated Bottineau-Rugby on Friday and Hazen-Beulah on Saturday.
JAMESTOWN 6, BOTTINEAU-RUGBY 1
Three first period goals set the tone for Jamestown on Friday night in their five goal victory over Bottineau. Junior Nolan Nenow had a hand in every single goal for the Blue Jays, picking up a hat trick and three assists. Hunter Nelson scored twice and Joe Cummings had the other goal for Jamestown in the victory on Friday night. Brooks Roaldson also had three assists. Brode Hillstrom earned the win in net for the Blue Jays, making 12 total saves.
JAMESTOWN 10, HAZEN-BEULAH 0
The Blue Jays found the back of the net 10 times in their Saturday thrashing of Hazen-Beulah. Nenow once again led Jamestown, this time finishing with four goals and two assists. Through three games played, Nenow has accounted for 15 points. Cummings notched another goal in the second period, and Roaldson got his first goal of the year. Ashton Stockert, Hunter Nelson, and Michael Mahoney all scored for Jamestown in the second and third periods. Andrew Walz got his first win of the year in his first start in goal this season.
Jamestown is now 3-0-0 on the year and will host Bismarck High on Thursday night at Wilson Arena.
