VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In the first game of the season for both teams, it was a fairly contested match up as the game remained tied at 2-2 just over five minutes into the game. However, the Blue Jays would get clutch scoring down the stretch and would lead at the half 24-10. Second half, the Hi-Liners just couldn’t get into a rhythm on the offensive side of the ball, I am sure that will come as the season rolls on, but tonight it cost them at Jamestown would continue to hit big shots in the second half and take this one 61-34.
Jamestown Leaders
Adam Kallenbach – 2 pts 3 rebounds
Luke Van Berkom – 14 pts 4 rebounds
Mason Lunzman – 10 pts 2 rebound (2-2 3 pointers)
Valley City Leaders
Cal Burchill – 7 pts (2-5 3 pointers) 1 rebound
Zach Sykora – 4 pts
Will Eggert – 5 pts 1 rebound
With the win the Blue Jays improve to 1-0 on the season and will next be in action on Tuesday when they host Bismarck St. Mary’s. For the Hi-Liners they fall to 0-1 and will be back in action Tuesday when they are on the road to take on Devils Lake.
