OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Oakes Chamber Director Kausha Magill stopped by to talk about some great stuff going on in the Oakes area this week. Going on today is the Oakes Area Community Foundation Baked Potato Bar. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Growing Small Towns building located at 510 Main Ave. A free-will offering is available with the donations going back to the community.
Also, a light contest will be going on very soon. Magill talked about the details.
If you are a fan of bingo, Oakes is the place to be. Magill talks about all of the bingo contests coming up.
The gym in Oakes is under new ownership and is moved to a new location. The gym moved from its current location out to the Lau Motors building. There will be a grand opening, but no date has been announced.
This Saturday will be a busy day in Oakes with lots of great events coming up. JQ Clothing is having an open house from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also, Tiny Tornadoes daycare is having a free-will offering bake sale. The sale will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. which is located at 517 Main Ave. The money raised from the event is going to update their educational toys within the daycare center. Lastly, Magill talks about an event to get you into the Christmas spirit.
