JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A man was arrested in Jamestown Monday morning and is now facing charges of failing to register as a sex offender.

Major Justin Blinksy reports that on November 29th, a concerned citizen had called in a suspicious vehicle that had been circling the block in the Southeast part of the city.

Major Justin Blinsky says 30 year-old Christopher Perman was found to be in possession of license plates on his vehicle that had been stolen on November 27th.

During investigations, it was found that Perman had numerous issues regarding his sex offender registration. Affidavits says Perman had been residing in Jamestown temporarily, but had failed to register.

Investigations found Perman had not been at his grandmother’s address in Streeter for about 20 days and had been “couch flopping in Jamestown” since then.

Perman is a moderate level sex offender who was convicted of Corruption of solicitation of a minor and ordered to register as a sex offender. His affidavit says he has registered about 35 times, but hasn’t registered with the Jamestown Police Department since 2017. He was last registered with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on October 11th, 2021 in Streeter.

Failing to register as a sex offender is a C Felony and punishable by up to five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine. He’s currently being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center on a $500 bond.
