NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals hosted their first dual of the season on Tuesday night in New Rockford against Oakes. The Cardinals won 48-33 to improve to 1-0 this season, the Tornadoes drop to 0-1.

Matthew Duchscherer is a Senior at New Rockford High School and has been wrestling for Carrington since he was a fourth grader. The Cardinals wanted to have at least one home gym match for Duschscherer, so they decided to have the dual in New Rockford. It’s the first time since 2004 Carrington has hosted a wrestling dual in New Rockford, when they had some New Rockford wrestlers on the team at that time.
