JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The #1 University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team continued its perfect season on Saturday night as the Jimmies swept Concordia (25-21, 25-18, 25-17) for its third straight GPAC postseason title.
Anna Holen had another spectacular performance, recording a double-double with a match-high 13 kills and 14 digs. The Jimmies were able to go on long runs from the service line with Holen serving, and she finished the match with three aces. The only other ace on the night for the Jimmies came from Jackie Meiklejohn.
As a team, Jamestown hit .342 on the night with seven different Jimmies recording a kill. On the backline, Ellie Holen and Hannah Schiele had great performances, picking up 15 and 11 digs respectively. Freshman Aleah Zieske surpassed 200 kills on the year with eight in the championship match.
UJ improves to 31-0 overall on the year and will move into the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament next Saturday as the only remaining undefeated team in the country. Jamestown will find out who their opponent is for the opening round match on Monday.
