JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – On a snowy and chilly Saturday afternoon at Rollie Greeno Field, the University of Jamestown football team struggled to get going as the Jimmies fell 77-6 to Dordt to round out the regular season.

The Defenders were quick out of the gate, putting up 56 first-half points to take total control of the game from the start. The lone touchdown for Jamestown came on the first play of the fourth quarter when the Jimmies ran a trick play that resulted in a Ryan Collins touchdown pass to Javon Bowie-Monteiro.

On the offensive side of the football, Cade Torgerson went 24-45 through the air for 174 yards and two interceptions. Torgerson’s 259 completions on the season mark a new Jimmie record for a quarterback. The Billings Montana junior finished the season just 32 yards shy of being the first 3,000-yard passer in UJ history.

Micah Madyun was the leading receiver for Jamestown, hauling in eight receptions for 28 yards. Bowie-Monteiro had two other catches outside of his touchdown for 52 yards. Tailback Frankie Ingraldi had one grab for 35 yards.

The Jimmies did force three turnovers on the defensive side of the ball, including when Tanner Grocott ripped the ball out of the Dordt running back Bush’s hands in the fourth quarter. Jordan Olson also had an interception.

The Jimmies wrap up the season with a 2-9 overall record, ending the year at 2-8 in the GPAC. #25 Dordt finishes the regular season with a 7-3 overall and conference record.
