JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Dollars for Scholars announced the Smile Studio is endowing a new scholarship that will be awarded starting in 2022 to a graduating Jamestown High School or the JHS-BJA senior.

The Smile Studio Scholarship will award $1,000 to a student who demonstrates a strong work ethic personal responsibility, delayed gratification, volunteerism and a positive attitude.

The local chapter was presented a check from the Smile Studio on October 11, 2021. Dr. Alison Fallgatter, the owner shared, “We are passionate about volunteerism and education. As our new location was constructed, we realized the enormous need for more hardworking students who will keep the lights on, water running, and take excellent care of people. By endowing a scholarship which will benefit graduating seniors for years to come, we hope to encourage and help make post-secondary more attainable for students who embody those attributes.”

Dr. Alison Fallgatter’s orthodontic practice was established in 2009 and became Smile Studio after moving locations in Jamestown, North Dakota. Their practice has encouraged volunteerism over the years with various incentives and programs.

Accepting the donation on behalf of Jamestown Dollars for Scholars was DeAnn Ament, chapter vice-president.

She shared, “We are grateful the Smile Studio has generously agreed to endow a scholarship and annually provide a $1,000 scholarship until it is fully endowed. We believe scholarship endowments can have a meaningful impact in people’s lives by creating educational opportunities, which can help remove barriers and open new potential.”
