CeCelia Rivinius, 100, Streeter, ND died early Friday morning November 4, 2021 at the Gackle Care Center in Gackle, ND.
CeCelia Schmidt was born September 29, 1921, in Stutsman County, the daughter of Ludwig Schmidt and Katherina (Graf) Schmidt. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Henry Rivinius were married March 21, 1941 at Medina, ND. They made their home on a farm 5 miles southeast of Streeter where they engaged in farming until Henry’s death on August 2, 1995. CeCelia continued to reside on the farm keeping up her home and yard. She recently entered the Gackle Care Center.
She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND. CeCelia’s faith in God guided her life, always putting God and her family foremost in her daily life. She would always make sure she had baked goods on hand, just in case someone would stop by to visit. She loved baking which she did to perfection. She worked in her home, gardens and any farm work that needed to be done. She had a strong work ethic and instilled that work ethic in her children.
Surviving are her children, Ronald (Marian) Rivinius; Ralph (LorRaine) Rivinius; Sandra (William) Deutscher, all of Streeter, ND; Rene (William) Kalin, South Range, WI; Holly (Lonnie) Dockter, Bismarck, ND; She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. She loved hearing about their interests, their stories, and what was going on with their lives and careers. It made her happy to laugh with the silly things that especially the children had to say.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister and 7 brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 10, 2021in the Haut Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Jamestown, ND.
Burial will take place in the Streeter City Cemetery, Streeter, ND.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Gackle Care Center and the Hospice of the Red River Valley for all the remarkable care that Cecelia received which was appreciated by all the family.
