MORRIS, Minn.– The University of Jamestown women’s swimming and diving team captured first place in 12 of 13 events Friday, defeating University of Minnesota-Morris 159-64 for its first-ever dual victory.

Six different Jimmies won their respective events and UJ swept both relays. Despite not winning the 1000 Freestyle, Jamestown still took places 2, 4, and 5.

Kacey Ross (FR/El Dorado Hills, Calif.) (200 IM, 100 Freestyle), Sulinke Van Den Berg (FR/Bloemfontein, South Africa) (200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle), Maya Villasenor (FR/Arcadia, Calif.) (50 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly), and Jada Shorter (FR/Magnolia, Texas) ( 1-Meter, 3-Meter Diving) each had two firsts.

Shorter also upped her NAIA qualifying standard in 3-Meter diving.

Courtnay Kiecker (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) (100 Backstroke) and Emma Pickrel (FR/Watertown, S.D.) (100 Breaststroke) also claimed first-place finishes.

Kiecker and Pickrel joined Amelia Hofmeister (FR/Grand Ledge, Mich.) and Nalani Curry (FR/Gilbert. Ariz.) to win the 200 Medley relay, and Van Den Berg, Michelle Felici-Komet (FR/San Jose, Calif.), Villasenor, and Ross won the 400 Freestyle relay.

Next up for the Jimmies is the Concordia/St. Benedict Triangular at Moorhead, Minn., on November 13.
