JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is warning residents of a high risk registered sex offender that has relocated within the city of Jamestown.
35 year-old William James Gehlhoff resides at 1610 Business Loop E, Apt A. He is a white male standing at 5’09”, weighs 225 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee.
Mr. Gehlhoff was charged with promoting minor obscene sexual performance when he was exchanging child pornography and chatting over the internet with a 16 year-old female in 2011. He was also charged with possession of material and sex conduct by minor when his computer showed seven images of child pornography. A second search found 300 plus images as well as 1,500 pages of chat logs.
He was charged again in 2015 of possession of material of sex conduct by minor when 421 images of child pornography were found on his phone.
Gehlhoff is not currently wanted at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety only and should not increase fear in the community. Any attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten an offender will be turned over for prosecution.
