JAMESTOWN, N.D. (newsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission were updated on different departments Tuesday afternoon.

Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen stated he continues to work through open felonies and misdemeanors, slowly getting through the workload with his staff. He also informed the commission in his written report that he would work with Stutsman County Human Resources on salaries for the position of Attorney II.

“I’ve asked Shannon Larson to schedule a personnel committee meeting as a step toward determining whether the county will increase Attorney II salary to be more in line with our primary competitor,” Fremgen reported.

Stutsman County has lost several attorneys to Cass County, who Fremgen says pays $95,000. Cass who after 1 year on the job is paying $95,000,” Fremgen reports.

Attorneys who have left Stutsman for Cass County include Lori Mickelson, Aaron Birst, Gary Delorme, Kate Naumann, and Nick Samuelson.

In the Road Department, Road Superintendent Mickey Nenow says they continue to work on culverts and graveling for townships.

He also asked the commission for approval to purchase a Rock Bucket.

Nenow says one was available for purchase for $8,000 and would be delivered to the county if given approval. The Stutsman County Commission unanimously approved the purchase.
