JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board received the latest information on E-care for the district.

Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech stated he has received a cost proposal from the Avel eCare services, which was discussed at the October 18th school board meeting. He believes adding the eCare will address some “gaps” in the districts coverage.

Dr. Lech says the eCare would provide services in one pilot elementary building, using one nurse in one building.

The recommendation was made to install the pilot program at Louis L’Amour. Dr. Lech added he would be pursuing a grant, but encouraged the school board to move forward with the pilot if even if the grant was not available.

The school board unanimously approved the pursue the eCare services pilot program.

Dr. Lech also gave an update on facility projects as they continue to meet with architects and engineers in the design process for projects slated in the Summer of 2022 at Jamestown High School, Jamestown Middle School, and Gussner Elementary.

He added a concern at this time as they work on the planning stages was turnaround time on prefabricated metal buildings.

Dr. Lech says they’ll continue to meet twice a month with architects, engineers, and Consolidated Construction to review projects, analyze costs, monitor progress, communicate between entities, and move forward.

School board members also shared their overview of the NDSBA Conference they recently attended.
