JAMESTOWN, ND. – Two undefeated, nationally ranked, University of Jamestown teams will be playing for the outright Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season titles and an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament Saturday.

At 1:00 p.m., the 16-0 Jimmie women’s soccer team hosts second place Briar Cliff at the UJ Turf Field Complex located next to Harold Newman Arena.  UJ is a perfect 11-0 in the league while Briar Cliff is 10-1.  The winner of that match will win the GPAC and claim the league’s first automatic berth.  The second berth goes to the GPAC Tournament winner, or if it’s the same team at the regular season champion, the second place team in the regular season standings claims the bid.  UJ is enjoying it’s best season ever under coach Nick Becker, is one of just three undefeated teams in the NAIA, is ranked #22 in the country, and is seeking the school’s first trip to the NAIA Tournament since 2005.

At 3:00 p.m., the #1 ranked team in the country, UJ volleyball, will host #9 College of St. Mary (23-3) at Harold Newman Arena.  The Jimmies are currently 26-0 and are seeking their second consecutive GPAC regular season title.  The Jimmies have made back-to-back trips to the NAIA national tournament semifinals and have won 89 of their last 97 matches.   UJ has a two game lead of College of St. Mary in the GPAC standings with two league games remaining.
