ABERDEEN, SD. (NewsDakota.com) – A 33 point night from Mason Walters and a big performance inside by Devon Shultz helped lead Jamestown to an 80-67 win over Presentation.
A highly entertaining first half saw the Jimmies go ahead 11-0 early before entering the break with a 37-25 advantage. Jamestown outscored the Saints 20-14 in the paint during the first half, but Presentation wracked up six offensive rebounds compared to one for the Jimmies. UJ held the Saints to 29% shooting from the field in the opening twenty minutes.
In the second half, Presentation made a strong comeback, tying the game at 54 with nine minutes to play. The Jimmies then turned and went on an 11-2 run to go in front 65-56 with six minutes to go. Schultz would help take over on the defensive end, blocking two shots and throwing down an emphatic dunk to give Jamestown all the momentum.
Walters finished with a game-high 33 points on 13-17 shooting and added in nine rebounds. Marc Kjos and Cole Woodford both ended the night with 12 points. Schultz chipped in seven points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.
Jamestown now holds a 2-0 overall record on the year, and the Jimmies return to play on Friday night at Harold Newman Arena when they host Trinity Bible at 7 pm.
