2021-county-commission

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission has approved matching hospitality funds with Jamestown Tourism.

Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund says they do this process annually through the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC).

The request is on an 80/20 split between the city and county with $60,000 covered by the city and $15,000 by the county for a total of $75,000.

Swedlund says any funds that aren’t used will go back to other tourism projects.

The JSDC made the recommendation to approve at their October 11th meeting to continue the funding.

The commission unanimously approved. Commissioner Ramone Gumke was not present.

In other commission business, the updated JSDC Policies were approved and requests were heard for Holiday Closure and allowance of the Deputy Treasurer to perform marriage ceremonies.
