Ruth King, 71, of Fargo ND passed away Thursday Sept 29th in her home surrounded by family.

She was born Jan 9, 1950 to George and Hannah Hershey in Fosston, MN. She was raised in Bagley, MN with her four siblings and graduated from Bagley High School in 1968.

She was married to James King of Minneapolis, MN on Dec, 26th 1975. They lived in Valley City, ND where they raised their children and owned Hilltop Café for 26 years.

Ruth was an active part of the women’s group at New Life Assembly of God church, loved spending time with family and friends at Lake Ashtabula, and used her love of serving others at Hilltop Cafe & Sandy’s Donuts.

Ruth is survived by their children: Rochelle King, Fargo, ND; Ron (Debbie) King, Valley City, ND; Sharlene (James) Boyd, Sunrise, FL; Robert King, Charleston, SC; Roger (Fonda) King, Fort Collins, CO. Also surviving are grandchildren: Josiah King, Angel King, Wes (Staci) King, Courtney (Joshua) Storhoff, Cody (McKinzie) Sivertson, James III (Shelby) Boyd, Hadassah Boyd, John Boyd, Joshua Boyd, Andrew (Tabitha) King, Devan (Alex) King, Jordan King, Hayden King, and Sydney King. Ruth also leaves 20 great-grandchildren: Patience (Drew) Buck, Faith and Ian King, Jonny and Jordyn Aarseth; Aubriana and Gavyn Storhoff; Lilyonna and Gabriel King; Linheyeah Boyd and Payton and Lyriq Boyd-Hartzog; Hailey King-Steele, Tempie Purnell, and Kevin King; Emmett and Brayden King; Hadlee and Oaklynn King. Ruth is also survived by her siblings: Bonnie (Dan) Woodruff, Janie, Jeff, and Greg (Carol) Hershey. Nieces and nephews: Jonathan Archambeau, Nathan and Jordan Woodruff, Danny (Carollee) Johnson, Amanda (Marcus) Grover, Amy and Charles Hershey.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
