BISMARCK, N.D. (PlayNorthStar.com) – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its ninth edition of volleyball players-of-the-week honors Monday. Katie Juarez of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected as the Attacker-of-the-Week, while her teammate Sadie Hansen was chosen as the Setter-of-the-Week.
NSAA Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week & Defender-of-the-Week
Katie Juarez – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’9″, Senior, outside hitter – Angels Camp, Calif. – Juarez posted a pair of double-doubles as Valley City State (N.D.) went 2-0 record for the week. She tallied 19 kills (tied career-high) and collected 15 digs in Vikings’ 3-1 victory over Dickinson State (N.D.). She followed up with 18 kills and 17 digs in 3-1 road victory at NCAA Division III Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.). For the week, Juarez totaled 37 kills and 32 digs with four service aces for the Vikings. She averaged 4.6 kills per set and hit .382. She also averaged 4.0 digs per set.
NSAA Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week
Sadie Hansen – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’9″, Freshman, setter – Oakes, N.D. – Hansen averaged 11.8 assists per set as Valley City State (N.D.) extended winning streak to five matches after going 2-0 record for the week. She added 17 digs, three kills, and a service ace on the week. Hansen contributed 49 set assists and seven digs in 3-1 victory over Dickinson State (N.D.). She followed up with a double-double of 45 assists and 10 digs in 3-1 road victory over NCAA Division III Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.).
