JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council Finance and Legal Committee has approved the job description and posting of a City Planner position.

The position was approved by the city council when the 2022 budget was adopted.  Deputy Auditor Jay Sveum says that the position is new to the city and the description was taken from multiple sources.

Sveum noted that this position is a first.

Sveum says that the position will hold a variety of duties, including some that have been placed on the back burner for some time.

The full council will need to approve the description and posting at an upcoming meeting.  The selected candidate will not start until 2022.

The council and its committees also took action on approving assessments and repairs to water main and sewer systems.
