Erma Thilmony Kronebusch, 97, died peacefully under the care of Hospice October 14, 2021 at Diamond Willow Memory Care in Alexandria MN.

She was born to Oscar & Evelyn (Beske) Triebold in Oriska in 1924. She graduated from Oriska High School as Valedictorian and began working as a weather reporter at Hector Airport in Fargo ND. Erma married Edward Thilmony and they farmed near Fingal and Nome before moving to Valley City, ND, where Ed owned & operated Barnes County Lockers. They had three sons, Donald, David & Terrence.

Erma was an excellent cook and always had a sweet baked item on hand to share with guests. She and Ed loved fishing and often rented a lake cottage in MN lake country for the family. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and was known as a competitive force in pinochle. She was very dedicated to her Circle at church as well as her girl’s birthday club.

Many years after Ed’s passing, she married Neil Kronebusch and they enjoyed their life together until his passing.

She loved her sons and rejoiced in the birth of her three grandsons and subsequently, their marriages.

Erma felt blessed to have the companionship of her friend, Bob Miller, in her later years.  He moved to Alexandria to be near her when she was in memory care.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Thilmony and their infant son, David, and Neil Kronebusch; her brother, Earl (Virginia) Triebold; and her sister, Ellen (Robert) Thilmony.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Karen) Thilmony of Buffalo MN and Terrence (Jeri) Thilmony of Detroit Lakes MN; grandsons, Duane (Dawn) Thilmony of Tampa FL, Parker (Tamara) Thilmony, of Denver CO and Detroit Lakes MN and Trevor (Gretchen) Thilmony of Detroit Lakes MN; and three great-grandchildren, Graesyn, Hayden & Lauren.
