Steele, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Carrington girls volleyball team defeated the Kidder County (KC) Wolves 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-13) in a region 3 match. The Cardinals cruised in the first set after KC kept it close until the midway point of the set. The Wolves also kept the second set close throughout but the Cardinals pulled away late for the 25-21 victory, before rolling in the final set to a 25-13 match victory. The Cards were paced by 6′ senior middle hitter Sydnie Grager’s match high 13 kills. Haley Wolsky (5’9 junior outside hitter) added 9 kills, and Kennedy Wendel (5’10 junior middle blocker) added 7 kills and 1 stuff block. Allison Jarret (5’6 junior outside hitter) also added 7 kills and a match high 3 service aces. Senior setter Emma Rindy had a match high 26 assists.

The Wolves were paced by 6′ senior middle hitter Kennedy Harter with 9 kills and 1 stuff block. Avery Rath (5’4 junior outside hitter) added 6 kills.

Carrington improved to 15-9 overall, the Wolves dropped to 1-12. The Cardinals will travel to Glenfield on Monday night versus Griggs/Midkota in a district 5 matchup that will be aired on AM 1600 KDAK (THE CARDINAL), FM 100.1, and www.newsdakota.com
