CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) In a matchup of Class 11B Northeast teams, the Tommies of Thompson shutdown the Carrington Cardinals offense in a decisive 38-0 final. Thompson improves to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the NE, Carrington drops to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the NE.

The Tommies would get the scoring going early when Junior Running back Reece Berberich ran in from 12 yards out for the touchdown, the 2-point conversion was no good making the score 6-0 with about eight minutes left in the first quarter. The Tommies would go on to score five TD’s unanswered. Senior QB Kyle Odenbach threw for three touchdowns, connecting with Freshmen Tight end Jake Starcevic for two of them and Senior Tyler Cunningham for another. Starcevic also ran in for the TD near the end of the first quarter. Beberich had two touchdowns as well. The Tommies defense picked the Cardinals four times. With the loss, the Cardinals have been eliminated from the playoffs.
