JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Pheasant Season opens statewide this Saturday, October 9th and runs through January 2nd, 2022.
North Dakota Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says the season continues to be a big draw for the state.
Leier say no regulations have changed since last season, but hunters may experience more competition with limited populations and decreased habitat.
He added that there are things hunters can do to ensure safer hunting during Pheasant season.

Leier also states that the fall mule deer survey will be held sometime this October.
During the survey period, people could notice low-flying small airplanes over some parts of the badlands.
Game and Fish biologists have completed aerial surveys of the same 24 badlands study areas since the 1950s. The survey is used to collect mule deer population data for monitoring demographic trends, such as buck-to-doe and fawn-to-doe ratios.
