JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Buffalo City Scream Team (BCST) has been volunteering up scares every Halloween in Jamestown for several years.
Having started at the North Dakota State Hospital, they’ve bounced around a few locations. This year, they’ll be located inside the former Triumph Inc. building at 214 6th Ave. NE.
Dan Everson is a member of the Scream Team and says they enjoy the scares, but also do it for a cause.
The BCST sits down each year and determines where they’ll donate the funding they get from hosting the haunted house. Participants pay just $5 and a non-perishable food item which will then go on to local food pantries in Jamestown.
Everson says new this year, they’ve set up “Soft Scare Saturdays” for haunted house goers to have a more tame experience.
The BSCT will present their haunted house each Friday and Saturday beginning October 15th and ending October 30th from 7:30 PM to 11 PM. Because they’re all volunteer, Everson says they’ll always welcome new scare members or help setting up and taking down.
Everson added that the success of the event hinges on participation from volunteers and event goers, but they’re happy of the past support and what they’ve been able to accomplish in 8 years.
If you want more information or would like to volunteer, like the Jamestown Haunted House 2021 page on Facebook.
