VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City increased its mill levy for the first time since 2010. The 2021 mill levy increased by 4.46 mills to 76.90 mills which brings the levy back to the same levy it was in 2019.
City Commissioner Dick Gulmon believes the city did a good job holding down any further increases for city taxpayers.
Valley City property owners will see an increase in their city’s property tax bill in 2022. City Finance Director Avis Richter said those with commercial property valued at $500,000 will see an increase in their city’s tax bill by $111.48 while residential property valued at $100,000 will see an increase in their city’s tax bill by $20.07.
The Valley City Commission unanimously approved of 2022 city budget during their regular meeting on October 5th.
