JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A powerhouse fundraiser has switched hands, but the cause remains great.
Baskets, Bags, and Bubbly is entering it’s 16th year and is set for November 19th. While that date may seem far away, co-chairs Tara Kapp and Nicole Lemieux have been planning for months for the event that averages around $20,000 raised every year.
Kapp says the event was founded by Deb Lee as a way to benefit their volunteers through RSVP and once Kapp got involved, Lee told her she was stepping away.
Kapp says the event features baskets of items from various donors, bags to be auctioned and raffled off, and drinks to make for an entertaining night of fundraising for more than 200 “divas”.
Kapp says she’s excited to have another fundraiser for Running of the Pink and No Excuses, which has raised thousands of dollars for women’s breast and cervical cancer screenings.
Nicole Lemieux has been involved with Baskets, Bags, and Bubbly for numerous year and says the support has shown through every time.
Because of the events popularity, tickets normally sell quickly. Those who wish to make an impact can still put together items to be auctioned off to help raise money through the event.
Tickets are $350 for a table of 8 or $50 a piece. Participants will be have a meal catered by Tapps Lounge and the Quality Inn with complimentary wine and a cash bar.
