JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay volleyball team picked up its 13th win of the season on Tuesday evening as Jamestown took down Turtle Mountain (25-13, 25-6, 25-16) in straight sets.
Service pressure was a big part of the victory for the Jays as they picked up 11 service aces on the night. Rylee Joseph and Kaia Dillman each had three aces, and Joseph was the catalyst for quick starts for Jamestown in sets one and two.
Bernadette Newman was the lone Blue Jay to finish in double-digit kills, ending with a match-high 12. Six other Jamestown attackers had at least two kills, including Haylie Hakanson who had seven. Both Hunter Petersen and Katie Falk tallied six more kills and Katie Trumbauer led the Blue Jays in assists while also dotting in two kills.
Jamestown now holds a 13-5 overall record on the year while improving to 7-4 in the WDA with their victory on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays return to Jerry Meyer Arean on Thursday when Minot comes to town for a 7 pm first serve.
