JAMESTOWN, N.D. (UJ) – The University of Jamestown (UJ) launches its new division of accelerated learning at 11am on October 6th in Fargo, ND.
The event will also be livestreamed online at: accelerated.uj.edu/launch. All are welcome to join online.
UJ Accelerated will offer short courses and certificates in high-demand job areas, such as healthcare, business, leadership, and technology. Courses range from four to 20 weeks with in-person and online options. Initial programs include a Financial Fluency course starting October 25th, a Metalearning course launching November 15th, a Cybersecurity bootcamp starting January 2022, and a Digital Marketing and Analytics certificate also starting January 2022. All courses are taught by experts, provide a professional network, and give students an opportunity to build a portfolio to help them accelerate their careers.
University of Jamestown President, Polly Peterson, sees this new division as an essential step in fulfilling the vision of UJ: “the University is committed to being the best career oriented liberal arts university in the midwest. As we listened to executives and leaders across the region the message was consistent: we need skilled workers who can lead- and can lead now. In response to the growing need for talent, we created UJ Accelerated to provide all learners the opportunity to skill, reskill or upskill through courses that get them there faster. We are excited to be launching this new division. We are committed to being responsive to the needs and wants of learners and their employers.
Executive Vice President, Scott Meyer, emphasizes the importance for education to continually meet the needs of students everywhere: “Education should not be a luxury good. In a Knowledge Economy, many of us will want to re-skill and up-skill to keep pace. UJ Accelerated provides a chance for students at all stages in their career to learn and build a professional network.”
The University of Jamestown was established in 1883 and is ranked as a top tier regional school in US News and World Report and a top Midwestern school in The Princeton Review. The school features development of the whole person through its distinctive Journey to Success experience.
