(NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City-Barnes County Development Corporation invites you to participate in its Career & Job Expo to be held Wednesday, October 20th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in the Hi-Liner Activity Center located at 493 Central Avenue North, Valley City, N.D. valleycitynd.org/expo

Employee Retention and Recruiting coordinator Kara Anderson said the Career & Job Expo is more than a typical job fair. The Expo is intended to reach a broad audience including adults already in the workforce as well as college and high school students. Businesses have the opportunity to:

Connect with potential candidates and hire
Create interest and build a pipeline
Share your environment, culture, mission/vision and product/services
Define a career path and opportunities to advance
Promote current/future career openings
Collaborate with area employers
Gain a sense of the talent pool and consider future training opportunities
Network with career counselors from area schools

Anderson said businesses are encouraged to send representatives and provide job descriptions and wages/benefits information. Interactive demonstrations would be a plus to help create interest and engage individuals.

The registration fee is $75. Register online at valleycitynd.org/expo by Monday, October 18th to ensure space is available.
