JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The offensive output in the first half from #1 Jamestown on Friday evening against Valley City helped the Blue Jays hang on to the Iron Helmet with a 32-13 victory over the Hi-Liners.

Jamestown scored all 32 of its points in the first half as Jackson Walters hit three different receivers for four touchdown passes. The Blue Jays got into the endzone on their first four drives of the game, scoring first on a 27-yard connection between Walters and Adam Kallenbach. Walters then took Jamestown on a four play, 50-yard drive that ended with a Devin Beach receiving score. Beach ended the night with three catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

Walters finished the game 15-20 passing for 260 yards and 37 rushing yards. Kallenbach led the Blue Jays with five catches and 97 yards, while also recording two interceptions on defense. Preston Kroeber also had a touchdown reception, ending the night with four grabs for 40 yards.

On the ground, Paris Ndikum had the lone rushing touchdown for the Blue Jays. Ndikum carried the ball nine times for 25 yards, and Jakob Schempp rushed the ball eight times for 45 yards. Schempp also had an interception late in the second half.

On offense for Valley City, Ethan Miller led the ground attack, scoring twice and picking up 47 yards. Austin Shape led the receiving core for the Hi-Liners, ending the night with five grabs for 80 yards. Starting quarterback Gavin Gerhardt was 10-27 with 124 passing yards and three interceptions. Valley City had 195 total yards of offense in the loss, scoring all 13 of its points in the second half.

Jamestown, now 5-1 on the year, will host Mandan next Friday night back at Rollie Greeno Field. The Blue Jays remain unbeaten in Class A this season. Valley City, 1-5, travels west to Watford City to face the Wolves in a non-conference battle. Kickoff for both games is set for 7 pm.
