JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team captured the top spot in the third edition of the NAIA Coaches Poll on Wednesday.

The Jimmies improved to 17-0 on the year Tuesday night with a sweep against Presentation. Jayla Ritter, the reigning GPAC Defender of the Week, tied for the team-high in kills with 11. Kali Hegerle also finished the match with 11 kills, and Jamestown hit .268 as a team.

UJ, 6-0 in the GPAC, just capped a 6-0 homestand that included five wins in three sets. Jamestown has now won 15 of 17 matches this year in straight sets. The Jimmies return to play on Friday night at Dordt, and the next home match for Jamestown is October 15th against Doane.
